Psychopharmacology

Dr. Ablow has two decades of experience treating psychiatric disorders with medications. He is often sought out to come up with more powerful, creative medication strategies for patients who have not experienced sufficient relief, despite trials of numerous agents.

Dr. Ablow believes that too many clinicians settle for partial remedies, rather than discerning the particular medicine or medicines that will truly and completely defeat a patient’s symptoms.

“Using medications to relieve the symptoms of depression, bipolar disorder, panic disorder and addictions—without causing side effects—is an art as much as a science. It requires great attention to the specific needs of individual patients and real diligence. Once that commitment is made by a psychiatrist, there is no reason that psychiatric symptoms should not yield.”
